Ladies First Celebrity Golf Classic Announces New Sponsor

Chuao Chocolatier brings artisan chocolates to the Classic

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 8, 2006) – The second annual Ladies First Celebrity Golf Classic, the only Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament to feature an all-female field of celebrities, will take place April 21 to 23, 2006. The event is hosted by members of the 2004 Gold Medal-winning US Women’s Soccer Team and raises funds for the Women’s Sports Foundation’s GoGirlGo! Initiative. Female celebrities from the worlds of movies, television, music and sports participate.

With the event approaching, the Classic has added Southern California-based artisan chocolate maker Chuao Chocolatier to its corporate partner roster. Chuao joins new second-year partners Golf for Women Magazine, Eleni’s Bakery, and Lady Golf, in a growing list of sponsors participating in this unique event.

Chuao Chocolatier in Encinitas is Southern California's only artisan chocolate shop. Named after the legendary cacao-producing region of Chuao in central Venezuela (pronounced chew-wow), Chuao Chocolatier melds traditional European techniques with world-class Venezuelan chocolate and fresh, natural ingredients to produce the finest handmade chocolates. Chocolatier Michael Antonorsi founded Chuao Chocolatier in San Diego County to bring Southern Californians the unique and, until now, rare taste experience of savoring world-class chocolates and bonbons. Chuao Chocolatier operates five retail locations in California and an online store.

According to former US Women’s National Soccer Team Player and Classic Host Julie Foudy: “We are truly excited to have Chuao Chocolatier involved in the classic. They are a wonderful, locally-based company and we appreciate their enthusiasm for the event.”

Business Development Director for Chuao Chocolatier, Tomas Pineda says, “We’re very excited about partnering with the Classic and believe it provides for a great cause. After all, we cater to the indulgence of unusual, unexpected and delicious chocolate experiences of women! The combination is a match made in heaven, chocolate heaven that is!”

The first year of the Ladies First Celebrity Golf Classic was supported by the following blue-chip brands/companies: Alice White Wines, Bud Light, Callaway Golf, Calyx & Corolla, Drambuie Liqueur, Goody Products, Jones Soda, Limelight Solutions, Michelob Ultra, Starbucks, Tiffany & Co., 24 Hour Fitness and United Airlines.
